PK-3 Frequently Encountered Problems: 1) "I've powered up my PK-3 for the first time but it is acting strangely, the speed is slow or uncontrollable." This can result from a corruption of the EEPROM parameters. Try a reset of the PK-3 to it's default settings. Note that this will erase all memories and settings including the callsign. PK-3 Reset Procedure: a) disconnect power to the PK-3 b) press the dit/dah or mem key to make sure that the voltage on the filter capacitors is fully discharged. You can also short out C2, the 47 uF capacitor. c) press and hold the mem switch d) connect power to the PK-3 e) release the mem switch when you hear the FB sent through the sidetone The PK-3 should now be fully operational. 6/8/2000 - Chuck Olson, WB9KZY, jacksonharbor@att.net
