The SMT board is now sold in joined
pairs as shown here
The SMT board is a small (roughly 3.25 x .7 inches) circuit board with 5
smaller sub boards which
can be snapped apart - each sub board has traces on both sides ("flippy")
for surface mount ICs (SMT => surface mount technology). The SMT board
could be used in "manhattan" style prototype contruction.
The top side
of the SMT board is shown above with places for (from left to right)
TSSOP16 (the AD9835 DDS chip),SOT23 + SOT143 + SO16 wide/narrow + Citizen TCXO,
SO8, SOT23-6 and SC70-6.
The bottom side
of the SMT board is shown at the left with places for (from left to right)
SSOP20 (the AD9834 DDS chip),SSOP28 (the AD9850 DDS chip),
TSSOP8, SOT363 and uSOIC10 (the AD9833 DDS chip).
Bill Tracey, KD5TFD, and Phil Harman, VK6APH, have used the SMT boards for the HPSDR project, here are two pictures ( picture 1 , picture 2 ) of the boards as part of the HPSDR .
