[SMT board top view picture - click for larger version] The SMT board is a small (roughly 3.25 x .7 inches) circuit board with 5 smaller sub boards which can be snapped apart - each sub board has traces on both sides ("flippy") for surface mount ICs (SMT => surface mount technology). The SMT board could be used in "manhattan" style prototype contruction.
The top side of the SMT board is shown above with places for (from left to right) TSSOP16 (the AD9835 DDS chip),SOT23 + SOT143 + SO16 wide/narrow + Citizen TCXO, SO8, SOT23-6 and SC70-6.

The bottom side of the SMT board is shown at the left with places for (from left to right) SSOP20 (the AD9834 DDS chip),SSOP28 (the AD9850 DDS chip), TSSOP8, SOT363 and uSOIC10 (the AD9833 DDS chip).

Note that the two smallest boards are hard to snap apart, use a tin snips to cut them apart. The boards are intended for experimentation with the new generation of integrated circuits, they are inexpensive but please don't expect perfect signal fidelity especially at higher frequencies. The pad layouts may not be optimum, but they should be fine for trying out the package styles indicated above. For larger views, click on the above pictures.
